Loan Periods

Loan duration

Undergraduates: 6 books for 14 days 
Honors Students: 8 books for 21 days 
Masters Students: 10 books for 28 days 
Doctoral Students: 12 books for 28 days 
Admin and Support Staff: 10 books for 28 days 
Academic Staff: 20 books for 90 days 
Paying visitors: 3 books for 14 days 

Short Loan Collection

Short loan items are available for two hours (Alice Campus) and one hour (East London Campus), during which they cannot be withdrawn from the library. 

 

Reserving Books
If the book you want is out on loan, a reservation for the item can be made at the issue desks at any one of the campuses. The library will notify you when the book becomes available.

Semester Hours

The library's open hours for the East London Campus are:

Monday - Thursday: 08:00–22:00
Friday:                       08:00–20:00
Saturday:                   09:00–17:00
Sunday:                     12:00–17:00

The library's open hours for the Alice Campus are:

Monday - Thursday: 08:30–00:00 (midnight)
Friday:                       08:30–20:30
Saturday:                  0800–16:00
Sunday:                    12:00–17:00

Vacation Hours for both campuses

Monday - Thursday: 08:00: 16:30
Friday:                       08:00–15:30
Saturday:                  Closed
Sunday:                    Closed
